The Trials of Psyche
The Trials of Psyche was inspired by a trip to the Auchmuty Library Special Collections unit to look at books from the Arts and Craft movement. The story of Cupid and Psyche appeared in several of these texts.
The project includes a video, bus stop bulletin boards, a digital game and milk carton design.
The Breaking News video asks people to help locate missing Princess Psyche, blaming Cupid for her disappearance. Viewers are encouraged to crack the code on specially marked Garland's Milk products in order to gain access to an online game in which they help Psyche through trials set by Cupid's mother, Venus. The reward for completing the game is a discounted (and hypothetical) ticket to Baz Lerhmann's movie, The Trials of Psyche.
